A once in a generation political showdown!

Mason Carter is a senior at Walkersville High school but is quickly emerging as a strong opponent to Incumbent Councilman Michael Blue (R-Frederick).

Councilman Michael Blue

According to Carter’s website, He was politically inspired by President Donald Trump and Former Frederick County Commissioner and District 5 Councilman Kirby Delauter.

Given that Councilman Blue has name recognition in Walkersville outside of politics for his auto repair shop, Carter will have to work harder than usual to pull of a Political upset.

Blue has yet to officially file for re-election however he has said he will run for re-election.

Carter said at his campaign kickoff while talking about Blue’s vote in favor of COVID restrictions in Frederick County “Word around the district is that Michael Blue is so afraid of contacting coronavirus, He even social distances himself from his campaign promises”

At Carter’s campaign kickoff event the headline speaker was Maryland State Delegate and Candidate for Governor Dan Cox who endorsed Mason Carter that evening.

Mason Carter sure has a uphill fight to secure the nomination for County Council but if we continue to see the energy and enthusiasm Carter has shown this far it might be the end of Blue’s political career. Carter’s website is www.carterforcouncil.com

The 2022 Primary election in Maryland is scheduled for June 28, 2022 with the General Election set for November 8, 2022.
