I recently interviewed candidate for Frederick County Council Chaz Packan (R-Frederick County)

Chaz Packan, Resident of Lake Linganore

Tell the voters about yourself.

“I am a life-long Frederick County resident and am the oldest of three children. I was born with Cerebral Palsy; however, I have never let that hold me back in my personal or professional life, and have overcome what doctors have said would be impossible. I have a very strong personality and I am not afraid to stand up for my strong beliefs of Faith, Family, and Love of our Great Country, the United States of America. My interest in political and current events have been very strong since I was young. American History was my favorite subject while in school. I have been involved locally in the political arena, beginning in my freshman year of high school when I started paying close attention to national and local politics. listening to my hero, as well as many in the conservative movement, Rush Limbaugh. Rush played a large role in why I was inspired to run for office.”

Are you a member of any clubs in this area?

“Yes! I am a proud member of the Frederick County Conservative Club!”

Do you support Mask/Vaccine Mandates?

“I vehemently oppose all mandates wether vaccine or masks! I will be a consistent voice for our God-Given Freedoms espoused in our Founding Documents!”

Do you support Reopening Meetings to the public at Winchester Hall?

“Yes I fully support the citizens of this county making their voices heard in public forums at Winchester Hall. If a proposal to reopen Winchester hall for public meetings is presented I will vote yes!”

When I talk to people, particularly in the city but also in the county, A big issue that comes up is recycling collection. Many in the city get it once every 2 weeks. Would you support having Recycling collection once a week?

“Yes if citizens of our county choose to recycle I support having it collected in a timely manner at least once a week.”

Do you support our School Resource Officers and Keeping them in our schools?

“Yes I do not support any defunding of law enforcement wether SROS or otherwise”

Do you support 287(g) and would you have voted for a audit?

“I wouldn’t have supported the audit in any shape of form. Sheriff [Chuck] Jenkins serves the people of this county with honor and I am honored to support his re-election as well as the 287G program.”

Sheriff Chuck Jenkins (R-Frederick Maryland)

If elected how will you stay connected and engaged in issues with your constituents?

“I will do the utmost to serve every person in this county including those in district 4 I will be transparent and provide weekly updates on what is happening in county government! Restoring honesty and transparency in government is one of my top priorities.”

Even though your running as a Republican, What and How will you get your message out to Democrats including Moderates and Progressives?

“I will be a voice for the average county citizen who is often hung out to dry from county officials who only serve their own interests and not the interests of this county or district. As I stated in my speech I welcome support of right leaning independents moderates and democrats who share my passion for freedom and liberty and real solutions that will get Winchester Hall off of the backs of the people of Frederick County.”

Lastly How can people learn more about your campaign? What’s your Website,Social Media, contact information?

“My website is www.packan4council.com and my campaign Facebook page is @Packanforcouncil”

What is your message to the voters? Why Chaz Packan and not a Democrat or RINO?

“ I humbly ask Frederick County citizens for their vote because given the track record of the County Council Democrats including but not limited to crushing county taxes, budget blowouts of wasteful spending, pushing for radical socialist programs that squelch freedom and liberty and undermine our principles as a Nation! I will be a voice for limited and citizen centered county government and be one who will stop this wasteful spending and onerous taxes as well as voting against radical programs that a majority of county citizens oppose regardless of political persuasion.”

Packan also is endorsed by State Delegate and Candidate for Governor Dan Cox.

District 4 County Council member Jessica Fitzwater is not seeking Re-Election to the County Council. However she has announced she is seeking the office of Frederick County Executive. That makes District 4 an open seat.
